Lent week 3  (March 16)

1. Share your highs & lows!

2. Discussion Guide -

- What was the last celebration you had? (Details! Occasion? What did you do? etc.)

- Who are the people you cheer for in life? How about the people that cheer for you?

- This is a hard question, but be as honest as possible - are there people you find it difficult to be happy for? Can you reflect a bit and wonder about why that might be?

- What does it mean to be jealous?

- When is it hard to be happy for someone else...?

- What helps you move out of a bad mood? Are you able to on your own? Do you like input from other people? (why/why not?)

- What are three things you're grateful for? (Can you go a little bit deeper than surface level?)

    Scripture reading - Luke 15:25-32
    Reflect
        - In your own words, what do you think these verses are saying?
        - What questions does it raise for you?
        - Is there a character you feel like you relate to?
        - As a pair, try reading this scene dramatically, like a play. Can you bring it to life?

    Notes:
    - Romans 12:15 says "Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep." Have you seen this demonstrated before? Have you had the opportunity to do either one?

*Prayer time – Pray for each other’s highs & lows or anything else on your mind!
Dear God, thank you for (highs). Please be with us in the midst of (lows).

          Amen.
